SAMUDRA YOGA TEACHER TRAINING - COMING SOON!
Did you know that Samudra is starting a 200-hour Teacher Training? Finally, a Teacher Training that doesn't involve commuting to Seattle and at a price that you can afford! Christy Burnette and our own Kath Mitchell will be teaching one weekend a month from September 2012 thru May 2013. Our program is Yoga Alliance certified and is for anyone looking to dive deeper into their practice---becoming a teacher is optional! We are so excited to be able to offer something like this and we believe that it will fill up. Please take a minute to check out the brochure here.

KIRTAN CHANTING & MUSIC
Friday, April 27, 8-9:30pm, with Melanie and other guest musicians
This event is FREE! All are welcome!

A journey through mantra (mind-free), music, meditation and sound! This practice is also known as Bhakti Yoga and Nada Yoga. No experience is required. You will be lead in call and response style through songs as you feel the vibration of your voice move through you. We end with a Gong Meditation. After 90 seconds, the Gong will settle your mind into spontaneous meditation and bring healing energy deep into your cells. OM.

YIN YOGA
Friday, May 18, from 5:30-6:45pm with Marcela
(Starting in April, Yin Yoga will be held ONLY once a month through the summer.)

In our culture of fast-forward living, convenience, and taking the path of least resistance; even the most energetic person can become physically drained and emotionally scattered. The perfect antidote to being all "Yanged out" can be a "Yin" class. A Yin yoga class is a powerful practice that targets tendons, ligaments and fascia within the body. Each posture during a Yin yoga class is held for longer periods of time to encourage the slow and safe opening of connective tissues, leaving the yogi with an overall feeling of lightness, spaciousness and peace. This class is a great counter balance to more active styles of yoga and can enhance the relaxation response for therapeutic benefit.

NEW CLASS! MOM & TOT YOGA
Begins May 24, 10-11AM, $12
Moms (or dads) practice together while the little ones (only children under 5, please) interact in a play space in the studio. Bring your child's special toy, blanket and no-drip sippy cup, and expect a sweet practice with some core work and probably a few interruptions. We will try this class for six weeks; if it is a success, we will add it to our schedule.
Taught by Marcela with her special helper, 16-month old Matthias.

PRENATAL WORKSHOP
with Marcela Starkenburg

The gift of creating life is a special time for every woman.   It is a time to appreciate the beauty and the miracle of life.  During this time, we notice changes in our physical and emotional bodies. 
Yoga is a beautiful discipline that will help you go through this wonderful process and grow with your baby.  Join Marcela Starkenburg, Certified Yoga Instructor and mother of a baby boy, to share the incredible benefits of this practice.  During this workshop we will focus on different asanas to accommodate you and your baby, breathing techniques to relieve discomfort, and experiencing the support of others moms-to-be.  
This is a great opportunity for you to introduce yourself to yoga or continue your practice and learn all the benefit in a safe a natural way at each stage of your pregnancy. 
All expectant mothers in different trimesters are welcome.

108 SUN SALUTES FOR THE SUMMER SOLSTICE!
Sunday, June 17, 9:15-10:45am with Heather

Heather Morton returns to Samudra to lead you through our popular 108 Sun Salutes yoga class! Join us and celebrate the Summer Solstice, as Heather leads the class in this moving meditation. Get here early, bring a towel, a water bottle and your solar energy! This will be a donation class, cash only please. We haven't picked a charity yet, so let us know if you have any suggestions. Afterwards, come downstairs to relax with refreshing drinks and raffle prizes!

BEGINNER SERIES
Thursday evenings, 6:45-8pm, June 21 - July 26, with Lynn
$75/student for the six-week series

This 6-week series is designed for students new to yoga or students wishing to brush up on their knowledge of yoga fundamentals. You will leave this series having experienced postures and breathing techniques frequently used in any of Samudra’s classes, allowing a smooth transition to Beyond Beginner, Basic or Intermediate classes. This is our only Series class, so please pre-register. No drop-ins.
